This is the page where you can add any information you find about grants. One of the things about putting all of your information here is that you will have it after you leave your summer position and you will have an opportunity to manage that information at your leisure. It is my hope that you can put drafts of documents as well as any information you receive back on this page. By doing so, you can create a trail of the work you have completed and the responses you receive.
It is my intention that you would all read each page and offer insight as you have it. By doing so, we can collaborate even when we are not in front of each other. Again, I will look at some things about grants today and offer some additional information.
Thanks!!
Dr. Martin

Katy,
I know you are working tonight and struggling with online access, but if I understood you correctly today, you will be in Bangor and have access to the internet over the next couple days. As such, I can only encourage you to really make good use of your time and get some ideas generated.
I did some searching for you and here is the PA Non-Profit page. This URL has a ton of information and again, as Jordan is not here to help, I will work to assist you in your writing.
If you look at the bottom of the page, I do believe there are a number of things to assist us with formatting, requirements, availability and appropriateness.
Thanks and I am excited to work on this with you.

Dr. Martin and crew,
I am just going to post some of the items that I have been working on for all of the grants. Rather than creating an excel sheet I used Word with paragraphs about each one detailing everything about that foundation.
Here is the list of some grants I found while at the office and at home
Here is the document that the girl who worked for Ed (meth girl hahaha) created. I figured we could look at this document and analyze what she did wrong and possibly use it as what not do to. Let me know what you all think.
hey everyone,
I just emailed the research office at BU and I am awaiting a reply from them. If we can get their support on this project we would be solid with backing from the University stand point. I am also beginning to dig through the website of grants that Dr. Martin posted on here. This takes some time to dig through all the requirements so bare with me. If anyone else has a chance to look at them as well a different set of eyes might be useful. There are alot of grants out there but the problem is the region we are in. Once we have a nice set idea about who our organization is and what exactly we do and our mission statement it will be easier to limit down and figure out what grants are good for us. Let me know what you think.
Log of my hours (Katy)---This is up to date as of 6/29/2012, I will update it as time progresses
So I found this powerpoint awhile back and I thought it might be helpful, there is just some good tricks and stuff for the grant writing process and background
I was wondering how the process was going with becoming a 501c3? I found a great grant that would be perfect for us and it is actually through Exelon from the wind show... when we were there I found them really inspirational and they actually give out grants to nonprofits but in order to apply you have to create an account with them and in order to do that you need a tax ID because they need to know that you are a legit 501c3 :( so for me to be able to write this grant we need to figure that out first but I know this grant would be a good supporter of our project. Let me know what you think. and here is the link to their site http://www.exeloncorp.com/community/givingandgrants/givingandgrants.aspx
Also found another grant off the site Dr. Martin listed above. It is from Harrah's like the casino entertainment corporation but they seem to fund projects like ours. I would like to submit a proposal to them, I think their process is simple and it is worth a shot. The only thing is once again I need proof of 501c3 but I guess we will work that out. This one is one that I am going to begin to form into a grant proposal. Link is below. http://caesarsfoundation.com/site/caesars-foundation-submitting/
If anyone has looked at the document I submitted above a few posts ago about some of the grants I found while at Zephyr, I have chosen the Rockefeller foundation out of all of them. Obviously with the time constraints of this internship I cannot possibly apply to all of the grants on my own but I am going to go for this one. It is the first one on the document that I have posted. So right now I am working on the Rockefeller foundation and Caesars Foundation from above. If anyone has any objections or issues let me know.
Okay scratch the Rockefeller Foundation, they denied my request because our project does not exactly align with the types of projects they are currently funding. Any word on the 501c3 status??????
